Mount Uhud
Mount Uhud is a majestic mountain range located north of Madinah. It is famous for being the site of the second major battle in Islamic history, the Battle of Uhud, which took place in the third year of Hijra.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ once said about this mountain, "Uhud is a mountain which loves us and which we love." It serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the early Muslims and the Archery Hill (Jabal al-Rumaat) where the archers were stationed during the battle.
At the foot of the mountain lies the Martyrs' Cemetery, where seventy companions of the Prophet ﷺ are buried, including his beloved uncle, Hazrat Hamza (RA). Pilgrims visit this site to pay their respects and reflect on the lessons of steadfastness and obedience.
